Born: 1930; Germany
Hans Becker, born in Berlin in 1930, is one of the few great talents of today that has the rare ability to evoke the past, bringing it to life once again with his palette knife and brush.
Rooted in the tradition of the great Impressionists, Becker is fueled by the desire to capture on canvas the transient, joyful moods of life.
Through his tranquil scenes of by-gone days, spent strolling along the banks of a sparkling lake, a billowing white sail reflecting the day’s last rays of golden light, a woman standing on a graveled path in a flower-filled garden, or the glowing street lamps of a busy boulevard by night.
Hans Becker captures the very joie-de-vivre.
